E allora vivi, perché quando ti chiameranno per unirti
all’infinita carovana che si muove
verso quel misterioso regno, dove tutti prenderanno
la loro camera nelle silenti sale della morte,
tu non arrivi come lo schiavo in una miniera di notte,
flagellato, ma sempre sostenuto e alimentato
da una fiducia risoluta, e allora ti avvicinerai alla tomba,
come colui che avvolge il drappeggio del suo giaciglio
attorno a lui e si sdraia ad aspettare sogni deliziosi.
